Kazakhstan’s Digital Project “Situational and Analytical Complex” Named Among Finalists of WSIS Prizes 2025
The digital project from Kazakhstan, the Situational and Analytical Complex (SAC), has been selected as one of the top five finalists in the WSIS Prizes 2025 international competition in the category “The Role of Governments and All Stakeholders in the Promotion of ICTs for Development.” The competition is held annually by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) with the support of the United Nations.
This year, a total of 973 projects from around the world were submitted for the competition. After the initial selection phase, 360 projects across 18 categories were shortlisted—20 in each category. Five projects in each category advanced to the final stage.
Alongside Kazakhstan, the finalists in this category include initiatives from Uzbekistan, Rwanda, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates.
The SAC project, developed by the Engineering and Technical Center (ETC) of the Administrative Directorate of the President of Kazakhstan, is an innovative digital platform designed for analysis, monitoring, and real-time data management in the public sector. The system operates in real time, enabling data collection, visualization, and processing to support strategic decision-making and performance monitoring of government agencies.
The platform covers more than 500 indicators across various areas of socio-economic development nationwide, including all 20 regions of Kazakhstan. Currently, SAC has been implemented and is actively used by the Presidential Administration and the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The final winners will be selected by an expert jury of the ITU. The official results will be announced on 8 July 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland, during the WSIS+20 High-Level Event, which marks the 20th anniversary of the World Summit on the Information Society.
The WSIS Prizes are an international award established by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) under the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). The award aims to identify and promote global best practices that use information and communication technologies (ICTs) to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
